Local Loop is a cooperation platform operated by TeamBalance Ltd ("we", "us", "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use Local Loop.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Information you provide

We may collect: Phone number for account verification and security; Email address; Name or display name; District selection; Profile information you choose to provide; Posts, comments and private messages; Business information, where applicable.

2.2 Information collected automatically

We may collect: Device type; Operating system version; IP address; App usage information; Crash diagnostics; Timestamps and log information.

2.3 Photos and videos

If you upload photos or videos, they may contain metadata. Local Loop does not require precise GPS location and does not request location services by default.

3. HOW CONTENT & DISTRICT VISIBILITY WORKS

Local Loop operates through local districts. Member posts and comments are visible within the member's district. Private messages can be exchanged between members within the same district. Posts published by the Local Loop account may be visible across multiple districts. Comments made on Local Loop posts may also be visible to members from different districts. Certain profile information, such as your display name and district, may be visible to other members as part of using the platform. Please consider this before sharing personal information in posts or comments.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to: Create and manage your account; Verify your identity; Operate and improve Local Loop; Show relevant local content; Support cooperation within districts; Moderate the platform; Respond to support requests; Maintain the security of the platform. We do not sell your personal information.

5. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING (UK GDPR)

Where UK GDPR applies, we process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases: Performance of a contract; Legitimate interests; Legal obligation; Consent, where required.

6. SERVICE PROVIDERS

We use trusted third-party providers to operate Local Loop, including: Twilio for verification codes; Amazon Web Services for media storage; Firebase Analytics for usage analytics. These providers process information only as necessary to provide their services.

7. ACCOUNT VERIFICATION & SECURITY

Local Loop uses verification codes to help secure accounts. We do not use or store passwords. Your phone number is not publicly displayed. Never share your verification code with anyone.

8. SHARING OF INFORMATION

We may share information: With trusted service providers who help operate Local Loop; Where required by law; Where necessary to help protect members or investigate misuse of the platform. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.

9. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information while your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, typically between 30 and 90 days, unless we are legally required to retain certain information.

10. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, appropriate safeguards are used to protect your information in accordance with applicable law.
